Environmental Responsibilities
Cooke Brothers understands its responsibility and the contributions that can be made to environmental matters by proactive and intelligent stewardship. This environmental policy has resulted in the company gaining national recognition through several awards, including an award for Environmental Achievement in Business. In addition, the company has been awarded ISO 14001 which clearly demonstrates its focus on reducing its impact on the environment.
The aims and practices of the business are geared constantly to developing and improving standards in a safe, controlled and environmentally friendly way. This includes maximising energy efficiency, minimizing waste by improving recycling and reuse and taking appropriate measures to deal with other environmentally sensitive matters such as noise pollution, water consumption and deleterious emissions. Cooke Brothers has also implemented many strategies with suppliers and customers to reduce waste where possible including returnable and reusable packaging.
