Tough Hinges For Tough Jobs

In the fast-paced world of temporary buildings, efficiency and durability of door hinges are crucial.

When a temporary buildings manufacturer needed a specialised cranked hinge that could withstand the rigours of on-site assembly, they turned to Cooke Brothers for a solution that would deliver on all fronts.

These temporary buildings are designed for quick and efficient assembly on-site, and their doors need to be just as easy to install. To achieve this, we engineered a bespoke, cranked lift-off hinge that allows their operatives to slot the door simply into place upon delivery.

However, ease of installation was only part of the challenge. These hinges also needed to be incredibly tough to withstand the heavy use and harsh outdoor conditions that come with life on-site. That’s why we chose high-quality stainless steel for their construction and bespoke satin polished in a way that minimises the folds on the metal. This offers exceptional strength and resistance to the elements, ensuring the hinges maintain their integrity and performance over time.

But our attention to detail and support didn’t stop there. We tweaked the chamfer on the pins to get the right angle for the doors to be lifted on and off and did a lot of work to make sure the bearings and bushes were just right. We even played with how we polish them to get rid of lines caused by cranking so that the hinge had a perfectly smooth finish. We also continue to provide ongoing support to ensure the hinges continue to function optimally in all conditions.

The result? A hinge that is literally tailor-made for the job at hand.

At Cooke Brothers, we love providing solutions like this one with hinges that meet customers’ exact requirements for both efficiency and durability. When you choose Cooke Brothers, you choose bespoke products built to last.
