Loadmaster Plus Closes In On 1.25 Million Test Cycles

How much movement would you expect to see in a hinge after nearly 1.25 million test cycles?

Cooke Brothers began long-cycle testing of its Loadmaster Plus hinge on 20 February. By 8 September, the hinge had completed just under 1.25 million cycles, with very little movement recorded.

Measurements taken after testing showed approximately 0.01 mm horizontal movement and just 0.04 mm vertical movement. Plot those figures against the allowable movement under EN 1935, and the result is particularly striking. Even after almost 1.25 million cycles, the movement is barely registering against the permitted zone.

Long-cycle testing like this gives Cooke Brothers useful evidence of how its hinges perform over extended use, rather than relying solely on standard test requirements.

Loadmaster are Cooke Brothers’ range of high-performance architectural hinges, designed for demanding commercial and heavy-duty applications. The hinges can support doors weighing up to 160kg and have been tested to 200,000 cycles.
