From Sketch To Special Hinge

A recent enquiry for a special cranked continuous hinge is a neat example of how Cooke Brothers can turn a customer’s initial idea into a finished product.

The customer supplied an annotated drawing showing the hinge profile they needed, together with the required length and black finish. Cooke Brothers’ design team used this as the basis for a fully dimensioned technical drawing, ready for approval and manufacture.

The team made the finished continuous hinge specifically for the application, incorporating the cranked profile into the design.

It wasn’t a large order, but that’s not a barrier to bespoke manufacture. Cooke Brothers can produce special hinges in smaller quantities where an off-the-shelf product isn’t suitable.
